The foundation of any farm is its people; and the purpose of The Fala Farms Reclamation Project is to create a space in which people can heal with the land, build relationships with themselves and others, and create a lasting community of individuals who are committed to the same goal of healing with the land, and reclaiming the original spirit of life with which they were born. The Reclamation Project is committed to engaging and empowering challenged youth and young adults, challenged Veterans, and any one who has struggled with the effects of abuse, addiction, abandonment, or any type of trauma which has limited their ability to create a healthy and abundant life. In order to facilitate the creation of these reclamation opportunities for challenged people, Fala Farms will be working closely with Local Schools, Churches, Counseling Services, Recovery Programs, Social & Welfare Departments, as well as Veterans Groups. In this way, Fala Farms can offer an option of a stable, sober, and supportive living structure for those who have no stable environment in which to live and thrive. Those people who are fortunate enough to participate in The Fala Farms Reclamation Project will receive private room & board in a highly supportive communal living environment, to include...
~ 3 organic meals per day, prepared with the produce grown and harvested from the farm;
~ Counseling, Healing Arts, Spiritual & Meditational Practices, Transformational Education, Self-Empowerment Playshops & Workshops, as well as Medical services,
all of which are designed to meet each individual's needs; and
~ A monthly financial stipend ~ the entirety of which the individual will receive upon completion of his or her chosen program ~
in order to assist with the funding for their own farm (if desired) within the Fala Farm Community;
and/or access on a weekly basis.
Initially, there will be 3 types of programs that will be offered by
The Fala Farms Reclamation Project . . .
In order to have a functional, productive, an healthy farm, there must first be installed a sturdy and capable infrastructure. This requires a strong team of souls to build the many and varied systems and structures which are required for a farm to be succesful and abundant. This is the purpose of the "Creating the Space" program. Challenged Young Adults, Veterans, and others who are in a phase of reclamation and/or recovery in which they have already cultivated the ability to consistently maintain their physical, emotional, and social health ~ as well as work well within a team ~ will be given the opportunity to be a part of "Creating the Space".
There is plenty of work to be done on a farm during the summer months. Cultivating, planting, weeding, watering, improving and maintaining equipment and infrastructure, canning, eventual harvest, and everything else which must be done, which is considerable. During the months of May through September, when the need for healthy farm hands is at its peak, is when Fala Farms will have the opportunity for challenged youth and young adults, and others who qualify, to be a part of the "Work & Win" program. This program creates an amazing opportunity for challenged youth and young adults to put all of their endless energy to good use as part of a symbiotic relationship in which they have the opportunity to learn excellent trade skills, learn how to work well within a team, experience the joy of hard work and accomplishing goals, and to heal with the land and people who genuinely care about them, their experiences, and their future.
As it often happens, there are those individuals, who once they have tasted the joy and peace of living on the farm, will wish they could stay. Well, The Fala Farms Reclamation Project has a program for them as well. In order to perpetuate and replicate The Fala Farms, Self-sufficient, Homesteading Model, there will be a need for special types of people who are willing and able to commit to "The Long Game". A program that at its most brief, lasts 18 months; and at its longest time scale, is permanent . . . It is these people who will be given the opportunity to either own their own farm within the Fala Farms Community; to stay on as long term, ongoing, or permanent farm hands; or to serve in other capacities. In every case, these fine and courageous souls will be part of the core of creating new farms, and new programs for the health, wealth, and growth of The Fala Farms, Self-sufficient, Homesteading Movement, which will
help to heal and reclaim
The Culture of Investing in and Recreating Organic, Permacultural, Self-sufficient, Agricultural Communities throughout the land . . .
